Have you recently decide that you would like to write articles to be published online and would like to know more about the process? If so you are not alone, there are thousands of writers all over the world who write and publish articles every day and who are paid handsomely for it or they generate a lot of traffic for their business.

When you first start out writing it can be tough trying to write as many articles as you need each day and make them compelling for your readers. If you want to start writing articles take a look at 3 quick methods to get started writing articles:

1. Make sure you know what you are writing about. Even if this means 10 minutes of research it will pay off when you can write informative and interesting articles. So if you want to be able to produce great articles you need to have a little bit of subject knowledge. You need to be as knowledgeable as possible. Good writers find their own ways to refine their research so it won’t take you too long.

2. Start out by writing smaller articles at first until you get used to the article writing process. If the thought of producing a 500 word article scares you, start out with smaller assignments. Think about a 200 word blog post or mini review and you should be on track to learning and gaining experience. Only take on larger pieces of work when you are sure that you will be able to handle them comfortably.

3. Be prepared to write lots. As the old saying goes “If you don’t use it, you lose it” and the same applies to writing. Good writers will write most days and this helps them to improve their timings and also hones their styles and techniques. So if you want to help yourself make sure that you are used to writing as many articles per day as you can and in time you will get much faster.

Many people would like to write articles but they believe they just do not have enough time. If you work at a full time job, commute to and from this job five days a week, and have a family to care for you may be finding it almost impossible to make any time for writing. I was experiencing this until I figured out these 7 tips for finding time to write every day.

  1. Carry a letter size spiral notebook with you at all times. I have two of them – one that I keep in my car and the other that I keep with me at all times. I use the ones that have a straight edge when I tear the paper out instead of having little pieces of paper all over. I also use the college rule lines instead of narrow rule so that I have lots of space to add words or sentences.
  2. When you have an idea, write it down immediately. If I am driving I pull the car over as soon as it is safe to do so. That way you won’t ever forget something that could turn into a good article later. I write down as much as I can so that I can go back later and write more details.
  3. Make a schedule for when you are going to write. For a time I was leaving my house at 5:30 every morning to drive almost an hour to work. I started leaving at 5:15 instead and was able to beat most of the traffic. That way I would arrive early to my job. Instead of going inside early I would park my car down the street and take out my notebook. I wrote for thirty minutes each morning. When I went inside to my job I felt like I had already accomplished something that was important to me. You may be able to write for a period of time early in the morning at your house. Maybe writing later in the evening works best for you. Whenever the time is, make it part of your schedule and set goals for yourself. I like to write one article every day, five days a week. In the beginning you may set a goal of writing one article each week. Break it down into parts. Perhaps you will make notes about what you will write on the first day, write two paragraphs the next day, and so on, until your article is finished.
  4. Wait until your article is finished before you give it a title. When you are first writing your articles will tend to get off track. By waiting until the end to give it a title you won’t be constantly working to get back to your original article idea. If your article ends up a little different from what you originally envisioned it is alright. Finishing the article is the most important thing to focus on in the beginning.
  5. Remember that writing becomes faster and easier as time goes on. If you set goals for yourself, stick to them, write every day, and let the writing just flow you will be able to write an article more easily than you ever imagined. The quality of your writing will also improve over time.
  6. Read other articles in the niche area that you have chosen for yourself. By reading other, related writings you will spark ideas that you will want to write about. There may be areas within your niche that you had not even thought about writing about in your articles.
  7. Celebrate your accomplishments! Tell your friends and family what you are writing about, when you finish an article, when you submit an article and when you have an article accepted. They will come to think of you as an author and feel like you have included them in the process.

About 85% of those who write articles never write more than 10 of them. Be part of the 15% who have disciplined themselves to take the time to write each day. After you get going for a few weeks and see what can be accomplished you will be happy that you made the time.

Writing fast articles only requires two things – knowledge of the topic and practice.

If you’ve just started writing on a new topic, it will be very hard to write 5 articles an hour. However, if you know the topic like the back of your hand and have been writing about it for a while, it is easy to churn out 5 articles an hour. If I really put my mind to it, I can write 6 articles an hour. I simply set a time limit of 10 minutes per article and do nothing else but write. I close down all other tabs, close down any instant messaging programs, perhaps even lock the door if the family is outside, and just write.

Time management specialist Dave Lakhani calls this the ‘power hour’. This is the hour where you ‘force’ yourself to be ultra productive and just produce valuable work that will bring you dividends.

This is why I also recommend concentrating on just one or two niches. It’s far easier for you to eventually write articles fast. Concentrate on list building in these niches. This way, you are creating your personal traffic funnel (your list), where you have the ability to command visitors to go to your site at anytime. It’s powerful, having a list. It’s repeated everywhere you look; people just need to take action and funnel their article traffic to building a list instead of looking for you know, instant gratification in affiliate sales or AdSense clicks. Those are short-lived. Building a list is long-term.

Many people like to include a lot of jargon in their writing because they sound cool. Jargon make them look like they are professional and expert but for average readers — who are their target audience, this is a major turnoff.

Articles that are written in conversational tone gets more readership because of the personality, warmness, and readability. Of course, there are exceptions when you write articles for highly technical engineers. But most of the time, even if you write at the fifth grade level, people don’t notice that.

They appreciate it if they can read the articles faster, which is next to impossible for academic writing. And avoiding jargon allows you to write articles with a better flow when the audiences read them.

However, how could you avoid jargon in your article?

It isn’t always possible to do so especially if you need to mention the name of the technology or other things. If that is the case, explain the term immediately after that so the readers can keep reading without losing the meaning. Don’t let the readers stop just to think or find what it means.

If you have invented a method to grow roses in a garden easily, you may name the “system” but make sure you explain about what is is before you use the term all over the places.

An article is unlike a book, where you can include a full chapter for glossaries. It is important that the article itself is independent entity. You want them to read to the end of the article and take action based on what you have to offer in the resource box.

Don’t assume that people understand jargon. You may use the term everyday that you are too close to it but remember that not all people will understand it. Make sure you write conversationally and pay attention to jargon so you can avoid them. People find the latter more compelling because it helps them understand what’s going on.

You may find writing articles more easier if you start with an outline. The following outline is like a template that you can use to repeatedly churn our articles for submission to the directories.

When I create an article I include the following:

- Article titles

- Introduction

- Article body

- Conclusion

- Call to Action

#1 – I will always have a batch of article titles to choose from before I sit down to write. Once a week I create a list of between 50 and 100 article titles. I can do this easily by changing and swapping core words in my list. For instance, let’s say my niche is brick laying. Here is how I can create several articles using the core title as a base.

4 steps to aligning bricks precisely.

3 Tips to aligning bricks accurately.

5 Methods to align your bricks perfectly.

I think you get the idea. By changing a few words in each title you can create new articles on the same topic without much effort. Although the titles are very similar it is important that the content of each article is unique.

#2 – the next step is to focus on the article body. You might find it easier to work on the central part of the article before you create your introductory and conclusion. The body of the article can be created by using bullet points or numbered items. So let’s work with the first title created above. “4 Steps to Aligning Bricks Precisely”. Here you can create four numbered items that details the steps to perfectly aligning bricks.

There are so many ways on how you can improve your newspaper writing skills. This will help you make your articles more explosive that can lead to your success in this field.

Here are the most effective tips for writing news articles:

1. Make your headlines explosive as much as possible. Why should people read your articles? Why should they spend their precious time knowing what you have to say? Communicate your answers to this question on your headlines. It’s important that you tell your target audience what’s in it for them so they’ll be enticed to read your stories.

2. Keep your headlines short. You need to help your publishers save some space when writing your articles. So, keep your articles short and brief. Also, keep your titles relatively short by using as few words as possible.

3. Check your data. As a journalist, it’s your job to safeguard your credibility which can be ruined if you feed your readers with unfounded information. So, make sure that you get your facts straight before you put them into writing. If possible, back up all your claims with testimonials or quotes from people who are involved in the story that you’re covering.

4. Keep it simple. Keep in mind that your readers are pressed for time and they surely won’t appreciate it if they need to think long and hard just to understand the message that you’re trying to get across. Help them out by using simple terms and by making sure that your news articles are easy to understand.
